May Council Meeting Round-Up

This month’s council meeting included many important topics – from location of the Murrumbateman all-abilities playground, approval of the Highway Service Station on Long Rail Gully/Barton Hwy, key DA and rezoning decisions, and footpaths in Murrumbateman. Update on the Removal of Trees on Rossi Street, Yass

Council acknowledges the public concern regarding the recent removal of two London Plane trees and one White Cedar Ash tree on Rossi Street, Yass.

Whilst we wish to preserve our valuable street trees where-ever possible, independent arborist recommendations and significant public safety concerns have necessitated the removal of these trees.

Boil Water Alert Lifted

NSW Health has advised Yass Valley Council that the Boil Water Alert issued for Yass, Murrumbateman, Binalong, and Bowning can now be lifted.

Blue Green Algae Red Alert Issued for Burrinjuck Dam Wall

On Display Indefinitely

WaterNSW has issued a red alert advisory for high levels of blue-green algae for Burrinjuck Dam at the dam wall. This red alert follows the sighting of an algal scum in the water near the Dam wall.
