You can make a time to discuss your proposed project with Council’s Heritage Advisor at any time throughout the year.
Local Heritage Grants Program 2025/2026
Applications for Yass Valley Council’s 2025/2026 Local Heritage Grants Program are now open, with $18,000 in funding available for heritage conservation projects.
Local Heritage Grants aim to contribute to the preservation of structures of historical value and to foster positive attitudes towards heritage and conservation.
With the adoption of the Yass Main Street Masterplan, building owners are encouraged to apply to complete works that complement this Plan. Projects may include painting, restoration repairs to awnings or removal of redundant signage – projects that will improve the appearance and heritage values of the Yass Main Street.
There is an upper limit of $4,000 for each Local Heritage Grant and in each case the grant must not total more than 50 per cent of the cost of the project or initiative.
If you do wish to apply for a grant it is advised that you speak with our Heritage Advisor, contact can be made through Council on 6226 1477.
Applications for the Local Heritage Grants Program can be accessed here(PDF, 235KB) and they close at 5pm on Friday, 21st November 2025.
