Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund
Over $55,000 available through Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund
Community groups in the Yass Valley are encouraged to apply for support through the Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund (the Fund), with a total of $55,413.29 available to distribute in 2025.
In accordance with the approved Development Consent and the relevant Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA), the Fund has been established to share the financial benefits of renewable energy investment with local communities. The Fund provides grants to not-for-profit organisations, associations, and clubs for projects that deliver lasting benefits to residents within a 20km radius of the Rye Park Wind Farm. Importantly, 20% of the fund is reserved for applications focused on educational needs.
Applications open on Monday, 8 September 2025 and close on Monday, 20 October 2025.
Chair of the Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund Committee, Councillor Allan McGrath, said the Fund represents an important opportunity for community-led improvement:
“The Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund is about ensuring that our communities directly benefit from the presence of the wind farm,” Cr McGrath said.
“We’re proud to be able to support local projects that improve facilities, strengthen connections, and create positive outcomes for residents. I encourage all eligible groups to put forward their ideas and take advantage of this funding opportunity.”
Eligible projects may include upgrades to community facilities, sporting and cultural programs, local services, environmental initiatives, or other activities that provide long-term benefits to the community.
