Have your say on Council services, facilities and programs through Community Satisfaction Survey
Yass Valley Council is inviting residents to share their views on the services, facilities, infrastructure and programs it provides through its 2026 Community Satisfaction Survey.
The survey will commence on Thursday 10 September 2026, providing residents with an opportunity to share their experiences, highlight what Council is doing well and identify areas where improvements can be made.
The survey is being independently conducted by experienced market research agency Taverner Research. The results will help Council better understand community satisfaction with its services, facilities, infrastructure and programs, including whether residents believe they provide value for money.
Yass Valley Council Chief Executive Officer Gayleen Burley encouraged residents across the Yass Valley to take part and have their say.
“Our community’s feedback is essential in helping Council understand what matters most to residents and where we can continue to improve,” Gayleen Burley said.
“The Community Satisfaction Survey is an important opportunity for residents to share their views and help influence the future delivery of Council services, facilities and programs. I encourage everyone to take part and make their voice count.”
As part of the survey process, Taverner Research will contact a randomly selected group of approximately 400 residents aged 18 years and over by phone during the survey period.
Phone interviews will be conducted between 3:00pm and 8:00pm on weekdays.
Residents are reminded that interviewers will identify themselves at the beginning of the call and will never ask for financial information, bank details or information that could be used to identify individuals. All responses will remain confidential.
Researchers will also ask demographic questions to help analyse feedback across different age groups, household types and localities.
Gayleen Burley said the survey results would provide valuable insights to support Council’s ongoing focus on delivering services that meet community needs.
“The Community Satisfaction Survey provides Council with an important understanding of how residents experience our services and where we can focus our efforts,” Gayleen Burley said.
“The feedback collected through this process will help inform our planning, priorities and continuous improvement activities, ensuring we continue to deliver services and programs that provide value to our community.”
Residents who are not contacted by phone will also have an opportunity to participate by completing the online survey which will be open on Monday 21 September.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will close late September 2026. Details on how to complete the online survey will be available from Council in the coming weeks.
Following the consultation period, the feedback will be independently analysed and reviewed, with the results reported to Councillors and Council staff.
