Tuesday 7 April and Wednesday 8 April

Tree trimming works will be carried out at the intersection of Meehan St and Comur St, Yass, adjacent to the traffic lights, in the mornings of Tuesday 7 April and Wednesday 8 April.

These works will remove the low-hanging branches over the road and footpath, as well as remove branches extending over private property.

To allow the works to be completed safely, the Meehan St intersection will be temporarily closed to traffic with signed detours in place.

Road Closures:
  • Meehan St (west), Royal Hotel corner – Tuesday 7th April, 7am - 10.30am
    • The Yass taxi rank will temporarily unavailable (but taxis will park as close as they can)
    • Official Detour via Rossi/Dutton St
  • Meehan St (east), old news agency corner – Wednesday 8th April, 7am – 10.30am
    • Four short-term parking spaces near the lights will be unavailable
    • Official detour via Church/Lead St

Pedestrian access will still be available, with pedestrians asked to follow signage and use the alternative footpath routes where required.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be available at all times.

Council appreciates the community’s understanding and patience while these important tree trimming works are completed.
