Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund

OVER $58,000 AVAILABLE THROUGH BANGO WIND FARM COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT FUND

Community groups across the Yass Valley are invited to apply for funding through the Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund (the Fund), with $58,649.00 (inc GST) available for distribution.

Established in accordance with the approved Development Consent and relevant Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA), the Fund ensures that the financial benefits of renewable energy development are shared with the local community. Delivered by Squadron Energy Pty Ltd, the Fund supports community groups, non-for-profit organisations, associations, clubs and individuals undertaking projects that deliver lasting benefits to communities within a 20km radius of the Bango Wind Farm. 

Applications open on Tuesday, 10 February and close on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.

Chair of the Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund Committee, Councillor Allan McGrath, said the Fund plays an important role in supporting community-driven initiatives.

“This is the third round of the Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund, and over the course of the program we have seen funding support a range of fantastic initiatives across the region,” Cr McGrath said.

“These projects have delivered real benefits for local communities, from improving facilities to supporting programs that bring people together. We look forward to seeing more strong applications in this round and continuing to support projects that make a lasting difference.”

Eligible projects may include improvements to community facilities, sporting and cultural programs, local services, environmental initiatives or other activities that provide long-term benefits to the community.
