March park closures - Victoria and Joe O’Connor Park

Victoria Park and Joe O’Connor Park ovals will be closed for remediation works from 9 March 2026 for a period of 6 weeks. 

Yass Valley Council has multiple established sporting fields that form an integral part of the LGA and essential to the quality of life of its residents. They are a key community asset bringing everyone together, encouraging social interaction and providing the community with opportunities for social and physical development.

Council has implemented a Sports Field Remediation Program which outlines Council’s vision for maintaining the sports fields within the Yass Valley Local Government Area.

This plan will be completed on a 5-year rotational basis in addition to ongoing annual maintenance schedules.

As part of this program, Victoria Park and Joe O’Connor Park ovals have been identified to undergo renovation from 9 March 2026 for a period of approximately 6 weeks (weather permitting).

During this time Victoria Park and Joe O’Connor Park ovals will be closed to all activities and alternate arrangements will need to be made for training and game days. All other facilities and amenities (i.e. netball courts/cricket nets/toilets/RV area) in the parks will remain open.
