NAIDOC Week Opening and Art Exhibition

Yass Valley Council was honoured to support the Opening Ceremony and Art Exhibition for the 2026 NAIDOC Week celebrations this morning, presented by Onerwal Local Aboriginal Land Council. 

Celebrating this year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," Onerwal Local Aboriginal Land Council has put together a fantastic week of free activities for the whole community. The program includes Storytime with Elders, Art and Weaving Workshops, Native Plant and Language Workshops, an Onerwal NAIDOC Movie Night, and concludes with the NAIDOC Market Day on 11 July.

We encourage everyone to come along, connect with community, celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and be part of this special week of events.
