Yass Valley Boil Water Alert LIFTED

NSW Health has advised Yass Valley Council that the Boil Water Alert issued for Yass, Murrumbateman, Binalong, and Bowning can now be lifted.

There is no longer any need to bring water to a rolling boil before consumption or food preparation.

The Yass Water Treatment Plant is now operating normally and meeting its targets for filtration and chlorination. The Yass, Murrumbateman, Binalong, and Bowning water supply has adequate chlorine levels and is being managed in accordance with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

Mayor Allan McGrath said “This has been a huge effort and I thank the Yass Valley community for their patience, and Council staff and partner agencies for their efforts to get the Yass Valley water supply back to a safe standard.”

Council thanks the community for their understanding, patience, and cooperation, while this alert was in place.
