Christmas on Comur Street Working Group

Yass Valley Council is inviting community members to be part of the team behind one of the region’s fast becoming favourite events — Christmas on Comur Street.

Held each December along the main streets of Yass, this festive celebration brings locals and visitors together to celebrate community spirit, support local businesses and enjoy music, markets, food, and family fun.

To help plan and deliver a safe and memorable event, we’re looking for enthusiastic and event-experienced locals to join the ‘Christmas on Comur Street Working Group’.

The volunteer committee plays a vital role in the delivery and management of the event. The group - made up of community representatives, local businesses, event volunteers, and Council staff - work together to shape the program and manage logistics. It's a great opportunity to get involved, share your ideas, and help bring the event to life.

We’re seeking:

• up to six community representatives to join the group,
• plus a representative from the Yass Valley Business Chamber, and
• volunteers with community event experience to help out on the day.

Members are expected to attend monthly meetings (and more frequently closer to the event), contribute ideas, share information with their networks, and assist with planning and delivery. Council staff will provide support and manage safety and compliance requirements.
