Yass Valley Council’s  grants programs are a way for Council to contribute to community organisations and others to continue their worthwhile work in the community.

The Community Grants Program provides financial assistance to community organisations to undertake activities, which contribute to the implementation of the Community Strategic Plan.

The Local Heritage Grants Program assists owners and managers of heritage properties to undertake projects which maintain Yass Valley’s built cultural heritage and heritage conservation areas.

Local Heritage Grants Program
In association with the Heritage Branch of the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), Yass Valley Council offers an annual Local Heritage Grants Program to assist owners, property managers and community groups to undertake projects within the Yass Valley.

You can make a time to discuss your proposed project with Council’s Heritage Advisor at anytime throughout the year.

Local Heritage Grants are now closed for 2022/23

Financial Assistance, Grants and Donations

Community organisations and individuals seeking financial assistance from Yass Valley Council for community-based initiatives will need to apply for funding under the new Financial Assistance, Grants & Donations Policy.

The policy, adopted by Council at its April 2022 meeting, describes the specific conditions associated with Council providing and managing funding opportunities offered to support community organisations and individuals to conduct activities, build capacity, host events and build strong partnerships with Council.

Council is committed to providing consistent, open and equitable financial assistance to the community within the Yass Valley Local Government Area. Therefore, those wishing to apply for assistance must demonstrate in their application how the funding will benefit the local community.

Community groups or individuals will need to apply for assistance on an annual basis. All applications will then be reviewed and reported to Council for final determination.

Applications for assistance are open until 11 March 2024.
