Murrumbateman’s brand-new public toilets open
Published on 09 May 2025
There’s relief all round in Murrumbateman as the brand-new toilet block at one of our busiest rest areas and recreation grounds is now complete and open for use!
The $357,000 project was made possible thanks to Council’s co-contribution under the Stronger Country Communities Fund (2022–23). The old outdated toilet block has been demolished and replaced with a modern, modular, energy-efficient, and vandal-resistant facility designed to better meet the needs of Recreation Ground users and the many travellers who stop off the Barton Highway.
Flush with features (literally), our new public toilets offer many improvements:
- A fully accessible toilet with baby change table, dedicated parking, and footpath access
- Three unisex toilets and two ambulant toilets (male and female)
- A men’s urinal
- A handy change room
- All stainless-steel fittings — tough, easy to clean, and built to last
- An upgraded public toilet management system to improve reliability and reduce operational costs
The new facilities are now open, so whether you're stopping for a break in Murrumbateman, or attending the local market or sporting event, we hope you enjoy the cleaner, more comfortable option available to you!
