Priority Woody Weed Spraying Program 2023/2024
Yass Valley Council will be commencing the 2023-24 priority woody weed control program in the coming weeks.
As part of the program, Council’s Biosecurity Team has engaged contractors to target the priority woody weeds identified in Council’s Strategic Weed Management Plan. Contractors will be specifically targeting Blackberry, St. John’s Wort, Broome and Sweet Briar growing along Council roadsides.
The Hume and Barton Highways will not be included in the weed control program.
For management purposes, roads in the Yass Valley LGA have been divided into four geographic zones.
Contractors will not be applying herbicide treatments in area adjacent to vineyards.
