Murrumbateman Water Supply
Murrumbateman village is currently serviced by three groundwater bores. While the bore water undergoes a disinfection treatment process, it is occasionally of below average quality, encounters supply issues in the hot summer months and also does not provide a secure water supply for the current Murrumbateman village, or for any future growth.
Long term water supply from the ACT is the preferred solution but in the interim, a pipeline from Yass to Murrumbateman will be constructed, which will service 3,000 people. This pipeline will allow for a reverse flow from Murrumbateman to Yass if and when water from the ACT becomes available.
