Council seeking cooperation from landholders in controlling invasive priority weeds in the Yass Valley
Biosecurity Weeds Inspectors Brett Lees and David Jarratt are conducting property inspections across the Yass Valley LGA and stress their role is to work with landholders to identify the presence of invasive weeds and then come up with a way to effectively mange any weeds that are present.

Intermittent planned overnight water outages in Yass

What to do if your water is discoloured
Yass Valley Council would like to reiterate that the water supply is safe to consume, despite recent discolouration, caused by prevailing warm weather and the dislodgement of sediments attached to the pipe wall through increased water flow.

The drive through Yass will be safer from next month with changes to speed limits in Yass Valley local government area.
Transport for NSW Director South West Lindsay Tanner said Transport for NSW carried out a review of speed zones on Gums Lane and Laidlaw Street at Yass to improve safety.

Icon Water advises that due to the heavy rain over the past three days infiltrating the sewerage system, the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre treatment plant is expected to discharge a small amount of partially treated effluent into the Molonglo River. This is expected to occur within the next hour as the rain continues.
