Rolling back of COVID-19 restrictions in NSW
On Monday, 7 December 2020, the NSW Government rolled back COVID-19 restrictions across the state, replacing the 4sqm rule with the 2sqm rule.
As a result, Yass Valley Council has made the operational decision to implement the following changes.

The 2sqm rule will be expanded and venue caps will be removed under a major easing of restrictions in NSW.

More people will be allowed to gather both at home and in outdoor public spaces, and smaller hospitality venues can increase their capacity under a major easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Applications have now opened for the COVID-19 Cross Border Sport Fund. The COVID-19 Cross Border Sport Fund is part of the NSW Government’s Community Sport Recovery Package, specifically targeting NSW border grassroot clubs and associations that have been impacted by COVID-19.

2020 Murrumbateman Field Days cancelled
Murrumbateman Field Days continued planning contingently following the Australian Government announcing COVID-19 restrictions in late March but at 100 days out from the October event and the current NSW Public Health Order (4) only allowing a maximum of 500 ticket holders at non seated events, it became evident it wouldn’t be able to go ahead.

Council managed Community Halls and centres are now available for hire and can occupy up to 20 people, or one person per 4 square metres for the entire building (not each room/area).
