Gundaroo Road Reconstruction Within the Yass Valley Council
Gundaroo Road Reconstruction
Gundaroo Road is subject to increasing traffic counts with a high number of commuters to the ACT using this road on a daily basis. This has provided a maintenance problem to Council, due to rapid deterioration of the gravel pavement after grading and has necessitated the need to reconstruct and seal this road.
The project involved rectification of vertical and horizontal alignments, replacement of culverts and construction of a new pavement prior to sealing. This now leaves only 1.6km of unsealed road to the ACT border.
