NSW Government's Residential Insulation and Hot Water System Rebates
The NSW Government introduced new insulation and hot water system rebates on 1 October under the Climate Change Fund. These new rebates form part of the $100 million Residential Rebate Program under the Fund, launched on 1 July 2007 with the rebate for rainwater tanks.
To help householders save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the following rebates are available:
- $300 to switch from an electric to gas hot water system with a 5-star or higher energy rating; or
- up to $1200 to switch from an electric to a solar or heat pump hot water system, which is eligible for at least 20 Renewable Energy Certificates; and
- up to $300 to install ceiling insulation.
Application forms and guidance materials can be downloaded from the Department of Environment and Climate Change webside, or you can contact the Environment Line on 1300 361 967. To receive a rebate, householders will need to send in a completed application form with original receipt after installation.
