Development Assessment and Control

Yass Valley Council's Planning and Development Services is responsible for ensuring that development within the Yass Valley complies with relevant legislation and is assessed against potential environmental impacts.

A Development Application (DA) may be required for certain uses, development, demolition, carrying out works or subdivision. Relevant legislation and documents can be accessed here.

The NSW Exempt and Complying Development, identifies certain development types that may not require a DA. For more information visit https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/
