Scandals, Crime and Corruption during History Week @ Your Library
History Week is nearly upon us, and during September 5-13 your Southern Tablelands Regional Library branches in Goulburn, Gunning, Crookwell and Yass will join with the History Council of NSW, other libraries across the state, museums, historical societies and historically-minded organisations who will all be remembering past scandals, crimes and corruptions!
Everyone loves a trivia quiz, so this year for something a little different, your local public library will be running a Local History Trivia Quiz specifically tailored for your area. You may even win a prize! Do you know when your local Court House was built? Who was that notorious bushranger that prowled the bush around your town or village? This is your chance to learn a little more about the history of the Yass local area – not only its scandals, crimes and corruption – from the resources that are freely available at your own local public library. If you would like to join in the fun of History Week at your Library, please call in or contact the friendly staff to pick up your quiz sheet, or log on to our website at www.strl.nsw.gov.au for a downloadable version. The quiz sheet will be available from Monday 7th September and entries will need to be returned to the Yass Library by Monday 14th September. To find out about the multitude of other fascinating activities on offer throughout NSW during History Week, check out the History Council’s website at www.historycouncilnsw.org.au/events/history-week.Yass Library is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm, Thursday 9.30am to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 1pm.
